Spicy Barbecue Burgers
Ingredients:
- 4 slices turkey bacon
- 2-4 jalapeños, sliced
- 16 ounces ground turkey
- black pepper, to taste
- garlic powder, to taste
- barbecue sauce
- 4 slices cheddar cheese
- 4 hamburger buns
- French's fried onions or crispy onion strings
Directions:
- In a skillet cook the bacon until crispy. Remove the bacon and set aside.
- In the same skillet, with the bacon drippings, sauté the jalapeño slices for 1-2 minutes, or until they are slightly soft but still have some crunch to them.
- Season the ground turkey with desired amount of black pepper and garlic powder. Form the meat into 4 equal patties and cook in a skillet, flipping once.
- When the burgers are done, top with desired amount of barbecue sauce and 1 slice of cheese. Cover the skillet and allow the cheese to melt, about 1 minute.
- Place the burger patties on the bottom half of the a bun and top with 1 slice bacon, desired amount of jalapeño slices and fried onions.
