Recently a coffee shop has advertised Girl Scout Cookie inspired coffee's, with Thin Mint being one. I knew that I could make a version at home and save some money.
The flavors of a Thin Mint cookies are chocolate and mint so all I needed to do was add those flavors to a latte, and it was super easy to do. A little cocoa powder for chocolate flavor, a little sugar for sweetness and mint extract for the mint flavor. This drink has a subtle mint flavor, but if you like a little more mint flavor you can add a bit more extract, just remember a little bit goes a long way.
Thin Mint Latte
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup strong brewed coffee, hot
- 1 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon mint extract
Directions:
- In a small saucepan add the milk, cocoa powder, granulated sugar, and mint extract.
- Heat over medium-low heat while whisking to combine the ingredients. Continue to heat and whisk until the mixture is well combined and starts to simmer.
- Pour the coffee into a mug and pour the milk mixture over top. If you want foam on top, transfer the milk mixture to a blender and blend to create foam before pouring over the coffee.
