Overnight Sourdough Waffles
Ingredients:
- 1/2 teaspoon instant yeast
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups milk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 eggs, yolks and whites separated
- In a large bowl whisk together the yeast, flour, sugar and salt
- Add in the milk and stir to combine.
- Add in the melted butter and stir to combine.
- Add in the vanilla and stir to combine.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let sit out at room temperature overnight.
- In the morning preheat the waffle maker.
- Meanwhile, add the egg yolks to the batter and stir to combine.
- In another bowl, beat the eggs whites until stiff peaks form.
- Gently fold the egg whites into the batter.
- Prepare the waffles according the waffle makers instructions.
